Words- a privilege that is too often taken for granted. They can be a speech, sound, series of sounds, or anything that has meaning as a unit of language. No one truly understands how much power can be in a single word, making it ultimately the deadliest or the most beautiful weapon known to man. With words, we create ideas which create actions that shape who we are and what we want to be. With words, we have achieved greatness, but we have also achieved destruction, making it impossible for us to find the resolution, as to we are always knocking down what we have built up; but without words we would be nothing, have nothing, feel nothing. They are used more often than anyone could imagine, because essentially, you use words to think and feel. When you feel pain, your body notifies you by communicating with you mind, as is the same with any other physical or emotional feeling. It sets off a reaction that is so instinctive that we are oblivious to the fact that it even happens. When our body tells our mind that it is in pain, the first things we do is ask, "why am i hurting? where is it coming from?", and so on, until we can pinpoint the exact reason as to why we are in pain; and of course this all happens in a matter of seconds, not even giving us time to realize how much communication has just gone on.
This shows that words define who we are, and without them, there would be nothing.
This brings up another point, how with words we can and have reached amazing heights, but we have also used them to destroy what we have created. They have been used to create our society and civilization, and the more we build onto our foundation of simpler words, creating more advanced words and ways of communication, there becomes an even greater risk of the chance that words can be used as a type of "wrecking ball" to our "tower" that we are building more and more with each new day. There is no way to avoid the inevitable: what goes up, must come down.
This truly shows how words can be used to be beautiful of destructive. They can be used to persuade, motivate, or inspire passion within someone, whether it be for good or evil. It all depends on how we choose to use our weapons. Words can be used as daggers that can cut into an other's soul, leaving a wound that will never fully heal. Even if we are careless with words it's just like being careless with a knife, the wound will go just as deep but will be there forever, tearing down their "tower". Or we can use our words as roses. We could give someone a beautiful gift that builds them up and helps to reinforce their "tower", and make it stronger than they could have made it themselves.
This power is something everyone has. Some feed it like a fire, making it stronger and bigger, but some do not understand that if you are not careful with your fire you can be burned, or you can burn others. We cannot take this power for granted, but in the end, it is something that can never be avoided.
